The streets of NYC may not be paved in gold, but the sky sure is. Walk with me from downtown to uptown and see NYC in all it’s autumn glory!
The Financial District
Starting our walk at the bottom of the island at NYC oldest public park, Bowling Green, on Broadway:

A leaf rests on the South Tower Pool, 9/11 Memorial.

Stark contrasts at Zuccotti Park.

Battery Park City
Still going strong in December in Wagner Park.

A hidden splash of color on the quiet Battery Park City Esplanade near Oasis Park.

Civic Center
So much beauty, even outside City Hall.

Mother Mary with the last rose of the season, at St. Andrew’s Church on Cardinal Hayes Place.

Chinatown
Autumn is just starting to touch Columbus Park.

Tribeca
All the treats of the season on display at Morgan’s Market in Tribeca. If this doesn’t get you excited for fall, nothing will!

NoLita
Ready to light up the night on Mott Street in NoLita:

Greenwich Village
The party never ends in the Village!

Choose your mood.

Union Square
I don’t think you’ll find a better spot in Manhattan for the gifts of the season, than at the Union Square Greenmarket.

The red peppers with the pumpkins are perfect!

Midtown
You can feel the chill November breeze swirling the leaves at the New York Public Library.

A quiet stroll across 745 Plaza.

There are always peaceful spots in New York City if you look for them…

Colors changing on Trump Tower, Fifth Avenue.

Pigeons rest under a berry-laden Hawthorn tree on the Park Avenue Malls:

Hell’s Kitchen
Amy’s Bread on Ninth Avenue – so creative and fun!

Eye-popping architecture and crunchy leaves in Hell’s Kitchen.

Light and deep shadows on Restaurant Row, West 46th Street.

Lincoln Square
A knockout 1891 brownstone rings in the season on the west side.

Holding on to the green on West 69th Street

Upper East Side
When you’ve got what it takes to go all out:

Glorious color at the Herbert N. Straus Mansion on East 71st Street.

Just the best:

Harlem
Golden hour in a golden season.

Bonus! Brooklyn in Autumn
Main Street Park and the waterfront begin a new season:

A protected spot, yet so close to the East River:

The last burst of Anemones at Brooklyn Bridge Park is pure joy!

Summer fades away, but so many good times lie ahead!

Gotta love New York! As if I didn’t love Autumn enough, your snaps totally locked it in. Amazing decor at Lincoln Square. The brownstones unadorned are striking enough. Beautiful Mother Mary and jiggles with the bakery humor! But your minimalist profile photo, Mr. Grouchy Pumpkin “muppet” really hit an inner chord!! 👏
I’m so glad you enjoyed the photos! There are so many flavors in NYC, I love hearing what your favorites are.
Both the upper east and west side are so classy and reserved, and the autumnal festivities only make them cozier. I would like to visit myself and see the beauty.
Thank you for showing us the greatness of autumn in New York
I agree, the harvest décor makes everything cozier. Just wait a few weeks and it will be holly and pine boughs! And I’ll be sure to bring you the photos…and maybe even bring you along.
